Weekly Recap

This week has been pretty calm. The fall open house for our boutique went well last week. I think I'm overly exhausted from it, so I've been taking it easy. I am waiting on some job news so if you could send up a prayer or good vibes for me that would be appreciated!

The hubs and I took a trip to the next town over on Friday, and went to this cute indie coffee shop. It was so refreshing, and makes me wonder why I ever go to Starbucks.  Well it's mostly because we have zero indie coffee shops in our town, and someone needs to fix that!

While in the big city the hubs took me to the bookstore!
I cannot tell you guys the last time we went together, and I cherish when we get the time to do so. I didn't find the books I was looking of, but it was just nice to stroll and look.

I've been working on redoing my office. I really want it to be a space for writing, and not just working and storing items for the boutique. I just need a change of pace in that room. It is starting to feel like a place I get trapped in, and we all know that is not good for creativity.

I am starting something new on the blog MONDAY, and I am super excited about it. I am curious to see what kind of response it gets. It's always excited to start something new.

Tell me how your week went in the comments below. If you do a weekly recap post, please leave a link in the comments. I would love to read your post!

I hope you guys have a lovely Sunday.

Healthy Reading Snacks

If you are anything like me you love to snack. As I have mentioned on here before I have been working hard to change my eating habits. So here are some healthy snack ideas that you can try next time you are wanting a nice snack to munch on while reading a great book. Frozen Grapes  The first one if the easiest. You take grapes, wash them, put them in a freezer friendly container, and then put them in the freezer. I like to leave them in the freezer for at least 3 hours. Over night is best. Quick tip: If you have a soar throat frozen grapes feel AMAZING on your throat. My mom use to make them for me when I had strep throat.  If you want something sweet but don't want the guilt, this tea is for you. It is rich and chocolaty with a little kick, and no ingredients that are bad for you.  This is a black tea so it has CAFFEINE. In case you cannot see the tea's name it is Numi Indulgent Tea Chocolate Spice  Zucchini Pizza  What You need : One Me...

Back to School: Percy Jackson Style

As any fangirl or fanboy wherever you go you want to show your love of books. Being lovers of books we are a unique kind. We crush over fictional characters, they become our best friends, when they hurt we hurt. Books are our escape, our passion, our fun, hobby, friend, books are our lives. Pride comes with being a book nerd and it's something you should embrace. These books we love sometimes take over. We love them so much we want to be a part of that world. I wanted to help find ways for you to always feel close to your favorite books and characters. This week I wanted to do Percy Jackson because I mean who doesn't like Percy Jackson?! These outfits are loosely inspired by some of the loved characters from The Percy Jackson series or the book covers. I stayed on pinterest for hours (shocker right?) to find outfits that have simple pieces that you can find in your closet or wouldn't be hard to find for a good price at stores. I also wanted to find outfits that...

Review: Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin

Title: Becoming Alpha  Author: Aileen Erin  Genre: Paranormal Fantasy  Pages: 267 Goodreads Overall Rating: 4.11 Published:  December 17th, 2013 by Ink Monster, LLC   My Rating:  I can’t do that. I can’t turn my emotions off and on like that. I’m either all in or all out. And if you can’t do that—if I don’t come first, then for God’s sake, leave me alone. Becoming Alpha is the true definition of YA paranormal fantasy and I devoured it. Erin took troupes that are known in YA and ran with them in fun, plausible, and exciting ways while taking her own spin on them. I sped through this book and right after I downloaded the next book in the series because I couldn't wait for the two-day shipping of the physical book.  At the beginning of the book, we meet our main character Tessa and her family. Tessa has an unusual gift and it has marked her as the odd girl out at and causing her to feel isolated. With her family...
