Friday 13th Creepy Reads & Recommendations

If you're new here let me share that I am a huge baby when it comes to scary things. I do however try to get in the spirit of Halloween, and with Friday the 13th being in October I knew I had to embrace it, and get into reading some creepy reads.
I want to recommend some books that I have read that aren't too scary, but are atmospheric and will get you in the Friday 13th and Halloween mood.

The Body Finder
Violet has always had an unusual gift. She can sense out dead bodies, but only bodies that have been murdered. On top of being able to find the bodies she can also feel the echoes they leave behind, and the imprints that come from the killer. When murders start occurring in her small town, Violet starts using her gift to identify the killer. Little does Violet know that while she is trying to discover the killer, the killer is hunting her.

This book read like a thriller. It was gripping, creepy, dark, and left me chilled to the bone. I picked this book because we as reader…

Random Thursday: Skin Care Favorites Fall Edition

To say I have dry skin is an understatement. My skin has always been dry, and yes even when I drink my body weight in water. It's just something I have come to terms with, but when it starts to get cold, my alligator skin comes out to play.
Today I thought I would share what I have found that seems to calm my sensitive dry skin, and a bonus helps keep my skin clear.
PS: This is not a sponsored post. These are items that I have found throughout the years while trying to battle alligator skin.

Purity Facial Cleanser
I use this gentle face wash in the morning. I need a very gentle cleanser for the mornings. This is made to melt away oil, makeup, and dirt. It also has properties in it that lightly tone and hydrate your skin. I think it's the perfect light face wash for the mornings when I just need something to wash away the dirt and oil from the night.
Take a Deep Breath Moisturizer
I love this lightweight gel moisturizer. This isn't marketed as a moisturizer for dry skin…

Witch is When it all Began

Jill is hired to find a serial killer, and in the mist of it she finds her her birth mom is dying. When she goes to see her mother on her death bed, her mother yells at her she's a witch. While Jill thinks her mom used her last dying words to insult her, she was actually telling her the truth. This was fun and magical cozy read that I really enjoyed!

Eve starts college hoping what everyone does. She hoes to fit in, make friends, do good in her classes, and if she meets someone cute it wouldn't hurt anything. Eve does happen to meet someone cute, dark, and mysterious, but there is more to Gage then Eve realizes.
Eve finds herself caught in the middle of an ancient war, and a demonic army hunts he…

My Witchy & Inexpensive TBR

I gravitate to book that are about witches year-round, but witchy reads are extra special and atmospheric this time of year. While I love to read, right now I am having to read on a budget, and I know I'm not alone. I thought while doing a witchy TBR would be fun, I thought an inexpensive TBR would be even better!
Let's start with what I am reading  Witch Cake Murders "Ava Rose just turned twenty-one, and with her birthday came a few surprises. One: she's a witch.
Two: she's part owner of a magical bakery she never knew existed.
Three: Someone wants her dead."
I am in the middle of this, and it's a quirky cozy mystery with magic and baking I am loving it. The best part of this book has to be that it's FREE on kindle unlimited, and IT'S ONLY $0.99 ON KINDLE!!!!!
Now on to the TBR
The Wicked Deep This is being pitched as a mix between Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic. Honestly I really don't need to know anything else about this book, it instantly we…

13 Bookish Things To Do This Fall

It's the first week of October, and you know what that means, we all go fall crazy!  Today I want to share 13 bookish things to do this fall to get you in the spirit.

Find books about real haunting stories and myths about places near you. If you live in the south I know first hand you won't have trouble finding material. After finishing your research, go to the place, or see if there are tours you can take.

Find a new warm drink to sip on while reading. If you need a new recipe I have the perfect crock pot cider recipe here.

To me this is when Bookstagram really comes alive. I love all the darker tones, the lights, candles, it's all perfect. Need some inspiration? Here is what I've done so far with my fall theme.
Let's be friends on Instagram! You can find me @bookstothetea
