DOON…

Veronica doesn't think she's going crazy. But why can't anyone else see the mysterious blond boy who keeps popping up wherever she goes? When her best friend, Mackenna, invites her to spend the summer in Scotland, Veronica jumps at the opportunity to leave her complicated life behind for a few months.

But the Scottish countryside holds other plans.

Not only has the imaginary kilted boy followed her to Alloway, she and Mackenna uncover a strange set of rings and a very unnerving letter from Mackenna's great aunt—and when the girls test the instructions Aunt Gracie left behind, they find themselves transported to a land that defies explanation. Doon seems like a real-life fairy tale, complete with one prince who has eyes for Mackenna and another who looks suspiciously like the boy from Veronica's daydreams. But Doon has a dark underbelly as well. The two girls could have everything they've longed for...or they could end up breaking an enchantment and find themselves trapped in a world that has become a nightmare.

DOON is loosely based on the premise of the musical Brigadoon, with permission from the ALan Jay Lerner Estate and the Frederick Loewe Foundation.

Alright it's time for me to be honest. I LOVED this book. The world consumed me and made me drift dreamily into the world of Doon. I believe this book is a guilty pleasure for me. I knew that the writing style wasn't amazing. The love interest wasn't anything new. Boy acts like he hates girl but secretly doesn't. There is a lot of insta love. So how did I like it so much? Let me tell you in some weird way all of those things worked for the book. I know that sounds weird, but have you ever read a cheesy book or watched a cheesy movie that you KNOW IS CHESSY, but you still freaking love it and just want to read/watch it over and over again? This is Doon for me. Doon gave me everything I needed right now. I am beyond stressed with school like a lot of you are right now. I needed a read that was light, cute, funny, and had the right amount of romance. I don't want to scare you away from this book because I do think that this book is a great read.
Lets talk about Doon. I loved the fact that this book had parallel worlds. I have a crazy fascination with thinking you can take a wrong turn or cross a bridge and you are in a different world. I want more books with parallel worlds! Doon is defiantly a top pick of a world I would want to discover. The world of Doon is described beautifully I mean look at the cover of the book!
I liked the romance in this book I couldn't help it. It wasn't realistic at all but it was that cheesy love story that we all secretly like! I know this isn't my usual kind of review, but I wanted it to be honest. I liked this book so much I went to the store and got the second book on its release date. You can see the cover in my last post =) So tell me do you have a guilty pleasure book? You know it's cheesy but you cant help but love it? If so let me know in the comments below. Happy reading Ya'll!

Back to School: Percy Jackson Style

As any fangirl or fanboy wherever you go you want to show your love of books. Being lovers of books we are a unique kind. We crush over fictional characters, they become our best friends, when they hurt we hurt. Books are our escape, our passion, our fun, hobby, friend, books are our lives. Pride comes with being a book nerd and it's something you should embrace. These books we love sometimes take over. We love them so much we want to be a part of that world. I wanted to help find ways for you to always feel close to your favorite books and characters. This week I wanted to do Percy Jackson because I mean who doesn't like Percy Jackson?! These outfits are loosely inspired by some of the loved characters from The Percy Jackson series or the book covers. I stayed on pinterest for hours (shocker right?) to find outfits that have simple pieces that you can find in your closet or wouldn't be hard to find for a good price at stores. I also wanted to find outfits that could easil

Of Poseidon

"Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen-literally, ouch!-both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance." I really enjoyed Of Poseidon  so much in fact that I have read it twice. Of Poseidon is the first book in the Syrena series, and this book is full of humor I was laughing from the very first page. The best part of this book was how much I laughed like a crazy person. Emma and Galen keep having strange encounters, and while Galen has an explanation for them, Emma just thinks he's a creepy stalker who wants to sue her for run
