THIS WEEKS QUESTION:

Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you? - Suggested by A Great Read

First can I say how excited I am that I was this weeks pick?!!!! I literraly did a happy dance around the house. No shame, just living the life of a blogger we get excited over some crazy things.

Well I guess my answer is pretty simple. I didn't have a lot of friends growing up that read so I didn't have anyone to recommend books to me. My mom and I would at least once a month drive the hour drive to the nearest bookstore and we would browse for hours! (Sorry we wasn't about to drive that long drive and stay 15 minutes we stayed pretty much ALL day.) I would look at the store employee's recommendation section to see their choices. For the most part though I would just grab a HUGE stack of books and take them to the sitting area and just read a little of each of them. If I had to force myself to put it down then I knew it was a keeper. These trips were some of my favorite memories growing up, and being able to share my love of reading with my mom has always been one of the greatest gifts.
I still like to do this sometimes. Just going into a store and picking up a book you have never heard of. I feel like that's sometimes how you find some of your favorite books. There isn't any hype or bashing of the book, not many people know about it, it feels like your own precious find for just a little bit. Then of course after you have had your moment you recommend it to EVERYONE...blogger problems =)
What about you guys? Let me know how you use to find new books in the comments below =) If you are a new follower HI *Waves to you* make sure you let me know so I can follow you back =)
Happy Friday ya'll!!!

Back to School: Percy Jackson Style

As any fangirl or fanboy wherever you go you want to show your love of books. Being lovers of books we are a unique kind. We crush over fictional characters, they become our best friends, when they hurt we hurt. Books are our escape, our passion, our fun, hobby, friend, books are our lives. Pride comes with being a book nerd and it's something you should embrace. These books we love sometimes take over. We love them so much we want to be a part of that world. I wanted to help find ways for you to always feel close to your favorite books and characters. This week I wanted to do Percy Jackson because I mean who doesn't like Percy Jackson?! These outfits are loosely inspired by some of the loved characters from The Percy Jackson series or the book covers. I stayed on pinterest for hours (shocker right?) to find outfits that have simple pieces that you can find in your closet or wouldn't be hard to find for a good price at stores. I also wanted to find outfits that could easil

Meet My Book Boyfriends

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by   The Broke and the Bookish This week:  Top Ten Book Boyfriends/Girlfriends (Which characters do you have crushes on?) Tower of Dawn It's been a long time coming, but I finally gave in to Chaol. He's complex, confusing, dark, and endearing.  Lola and the Boy Next Door Cricket is my sweet boyfriend. He loves Lola for exactly who she is. He never asks her to change, and falls in love with every part of her.  The Raven Boys I refuse to pick. I want them all!  White Hot Kiss I like both men in this book, but if I had to pick, it would be Roth. I just love his attitude. I haven't read the last book. I'm not ready!!!!!!  Clockwork Angel Will is my moody and misunderstood boyfriend.  Touch of Power  Kerrick is the boyfriend that I'm not real sure why I like him, but I keep him around.  The Body Finder Oh Jay my sweet and loyal Jay. I love him with al

Characters I Never Trust

There are certain characters I never trust. If there is a murder, someone out to destroy the main character, and/or mysterious things are happening, it is almost always one of these characters behind it. The overly helpful adult or superior. This could be a teacher or leader that is always there to save you at the last minute. The superior who has all the answer that you need to solve the mystery.  Family member from the love interests side. It may be a mother who thinks the girl isn't good enough for her son or the power hungry father. Shy background/secondary character. The character who is awkward and maybe the friend that is in the circle because of a family link or the circle just feels sorry for them. The shy character who gets looked over and holds a grudge. You gotta watch the quite ones! Characters that come out of no where . The characters who coincidently show up  right before all cray breaks lose. It could be a long time friend that just so happens to be visitin
