Vampire Academy Book Thoughts


Vampire Academy was a quick read. I flew through it and I enjoyed it once I got over being confused. If you read this book and get confused on the names/types of vampires, power through my friend because it will finally click I promise. This is a book I recommend because as soon as I finished the book my first thought was to go get the second book immediately. There was mystery, action, comedy, romance, true high school drama, and weird friendships with some unique baggage. You get a diverse group of characters so I feel like it will be easy to connect with at least one of them throughout the series, but I will say I had a hard time investing emotions or connections with these characters in the first book. From everyone that I have asked this series is one that grows with every book. I enjoy series like that because you get the sense of the characters growing into their true selves. I would rather read a series that grew than one that had an amazing first book and the rest of the series is a complete disappointment and makes you wish you only read the first book. Like I said I do recommend this book, but it was not one of my favorites. It was just enough to make me want to continue with the series.

I know that some people may be wanting a small synopses of this book, but it really is one of those books that even if you give small details you are giving away too much. So with that being mentioned I highly recommend you going into this book blindly. If you do this there are numerous benefits the shock factor is going to be a billion times better, you will not have to worry about spoilers, and like I said it may not be a WOW THAT BOOK WAS AH-MAY-ZING but it is a fun and fast read. I am going to give the second book a chance and see how I like it, and then I will decide on if I will continue with the series. Meet My Book Boyfriends

Characters I Never Trust

There are certain characters I never trust. If there is a murder, someone out to destroy the main character, and/or mysterious things are happening, it is almost always one of these characters behind it. The overly helpful adult or superior. This could be a teacher or leader that is always there to save you at the last minute. The superior who has all the answer that you need to solve the mystery.  Family member from the love interests side. It may be a mother who thinks the girl isn't good enough for her son or the power hungry father. Shy background/secondary character. The character who is awkward and maybe the friend that is in the circle because of a family link or the circle just feels sorry for them. The shy character who gets looked over and holds a grudge. You gotta watch the quite ones!
