Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by   The Broke and the Bookish This week:  Top Ten Book Boyfriends/Girlfriends (Which characters do you have crushes on?) Tower of Dawn It's been a long time coming, but I finally gave in to Chaol. He's complex, confusing, dark, and endearing.  Lola and the Boy Next Door Cricket is my sweet boyfriend. He loves Lola for exactly who she is. He never asks her to change, and falls in love with every part of her.  The Raven Boys I refuse to pick. I want them all!  White Hot Kiss I like both men in this book, but if I had to pick, it would be Roth. I just love his attitude. I haven't read the last book. I'm not ready!!!!!!  Clockwork Angel Will is my moody and misunderstood boyfriend.  Touch of Power  Kerrick is the boyfriend that I'm not real sure why I like him, but I keep him around.  The Body Finder Oh Jay my sweet and loyal...

September Wrap Up

I'm so excited, because I've never done a wrap up before! I think when I first started my blog wrap ups weren't as popular. When I took my break, and came back I saw they were all over the place! So without further here is my wrap up.  All Links will take you to my reviews!!! You already know this is a favorite of mine. You can read my review of the audio book  here. This book will always hold a special place in my heart. It got me into reading again. After losing my dad I didn't think I would ever enjoy reading after he passed.  This book  made me remember how much joy and fun reading can be  The Raven Boys  has to be one of the most unique reads ever.  When I finished the book I couldn't write a review right away. It's so complex and mind blowing, you have to sit back and soak it all in.  The West Woods  had to be the hardest review I have written. I knew I had to be honest, and it was no...

Sip & Read: Fall Cider Recipe

In my neck of the woods, we are suppose to start getting fall like weather next week, so I am gearing up. One of my go to for lazy Saturday is a good book, fuzzy blanket, and my fall cider. Today I thought it would be fun to share the recipe with you. This cider is a must in my home for cozy nights in, Halloween,Thanksgiving, and really any other reason we can think of.  The best part is this cider is beyond easy. You seriously just throw a few things in the crock pot and you're done! It's so easy I was worried it wouldn't be good, but it's a fall staple in our house now.  Ingredients  8 cups of apple juice  6 cups of orange juice  4 whole cloves  (I put mine in a tea ball diffuser so I don't have to fish them out) 3 cinnamon sticks  Recipe  Put all ingredients in the crock pot  Turn the crockpot on low for about 1 hour After the hour has come and gone you can put the crock pot on simmer for the rest of ...

Slay Your First Book Convention

With the big  Love N Books  convention coming up some of you may be going, and this is your first convention. I wish I would have read a post about how to survive your first convention before I went to my first one. So friends, here is a list of things to keep in mind. Go by these guidelines and you will slay your first book convention like a pro! Before You Go:  Check out hotels and deals: I would do this as early as possibly. We waited last minute, and almost didn't get a room. The hotels nearest to the convention fill up quick. If you can get a room close to the convention do so. You can check out discounted Las Vegas hotel and flight deals  here. Map out your way to the convention:  When you get your tickets you should get emails with more details . Once you find out where you are staying, map our your route to the convention. I know this sounds like overkill, but trust me it's worth it. You are going to be overwhelmed out of your...

Top Ten Books/Characters That Inspire Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by   The Broke and the Bookish This week:  Ten Books That Feature Characters: that inspire me  Out of My Mind  Melody cannot walk or talk caused by cerebral palsy. Even though Melody cannot talk the reader is reading from her perspective, and we get to see what is going on in her mind. This books is heartbreaking, inspiring, and above all else eye opening.  Uninvited  Lysa TerKeurst inspires me as woman in general, but she really inspired me when I learned she wrote Uninvited while going through her divorce.  The Hunger Games Just about all the characters in The Hunger Games inspire me. They had to make sacrifices and choices that I could never imagine doing. They were in the midis of a upraise, and were inspiring in the processes.  To All the Boys I've Loved Before I HAVEN'T READ THE LAST BOOK, so this is coming from the first two. I love how Lara Jean d...

Fall Book Recommendations: If You Like This Try This.

My reading taste turns from lighter reads, to darker reads in the fall. All of these reads are PERFECT for fall. These books are recommended from lighter to darker reads. If you like the lighter book, it's a good possibility you will enjoy the darker book. In the why section I have written what they have in common, just remember in the "if you like" section the book isn't as dark as the one in the "try this" section.  Light to Dark Recommendations   Have you read any of the books listed? If you have any recommendations share in the comments below, and I will add them to my TBR.  Happy fall reading y'all!

Top Bookish Memories Autumn Edition

I LOVE reading in the fall. All my favorite genres fit for the darker/cooler months. Fantasy and paranormal reads come alive in these crisp months. Blankets, cozy sweaters, and hot cups of tea become a must have essentials for reading time. I mean how does it get any better?  Today I wanted to talk about some of the best autumn memories I have that relate to books. I started Twilight honestly to pass the time during weekend car rides. My family use to have to drive every weekend to Boone North Carolina. To say a 15 year old girl was not happy about this was being nice. I remember reading this book in the backseat, and passing the most breathtaking views I had ever seen. The trees were vivid in their new fall colors (or fall dresses my mom loves to say). The mountain views, the crisp air, and the darker rainy days set the perfect atmosphere for Twilight. It felt like if I looked hard enough I could see one of the characters hiding in the thick forests we would p...
