Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves created by  Tyngas Reviews   is a weekly meme all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks. This is my first Bible study by  The Daily Grace Co . Waiting for Advent is a Bible study that focuses on the season of waiting, and how Jesus can fulfill all the longings of our hears. I plan on doing a weekly recap of my journey through this study!  I've had many book loving friends recommend Frost Blood , and when I saw Books A Million had it on sale I quickly grabbed it up. This is one of those books I just have a feeling I will love.  A sweet woman at my church lead a fiction bookclub, and this week was our last meeting. To celebrate the end of a great life-group and Christmas we did a book exchange. I have been eyeing this book for a l

Book Talk: I'm a Bad Closer

Okay I have a problem, and I hope I'm not alone. I love a good series, but I get very emotionally involved. So when the end of a series comes around I get excited to see how it will all end, but the more I love a series the more likely I am to put off reading the last book. I don't want the story to end, and let's be honest many authors kill off characters in the end causing us book lovers to die a little inside. I don't like saying goodbye to characters, and this lead me to the idea of sharing a list of series I love but can't make myself finish. Kingdom of Ash This is the last book in  Throne of Glass series  , and I am not ready for what could happen. The book before this ended in such a crazy way I'm not sure I will make it through the last book. I went to start reading it, and I just wasn't ready and had to walk away. I am so emotionally involved in this series I feel like the characters are family, and I'm not ready to see how their sto

Top Ten Tuesday: Villains

Top Ten Tuesday was created by  The Broke and the Bookish  in June of 2010 and was moved to  That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This weeks Top Ten:   Villains  (favorite, best, worst, lovable, creepiest, most evil, etc.) I couldn't decide which type of villain I wanted to write about, so that lead me to do subcategories. I feel like such a rebel! Villains I Love To Hate  The Beautiful Pretender I have a review of this book coming soon so I won't say too much, but there is a character I absolutely hate. Most villains have redeeming qualities, but this character had lacked any of those qualities. She loved to hurt others and was completely heartless.  The Falconer The Villain in this book was completely cut throat, heartless, violent, and everything I love to hate. This Villain did things that ripped my heart out, stomped on it, then put it throug

Chasing A Hidden Dream

This post is probably going to be all over the place, so please excuse the hot mess that will flood this post. The past year I have been chasing a dream that I've always had, and that is writing. I've been writing ever since I can remember, but I've never dedicated myself to the craft. Fun fact about me, when I was in grade school I wrote a poem about fall and I won a creative writing contest with it. That poem is in our small towns historical museum. I truly believe that it was that day that I realized that writing was my passion. That day the writing bug bit me, and the itch to create has never left. Throughout school I wrote and loved every second of it. I won contests and scholarships but I never thought of being an author. In brutal honesty I truly believed that I could never achieve being an author because I live in a small town, and well it's hard to have big dreams in a small town. I don't live in a place where I could find editors, agents, publishers,

You needn’t believe something weak because it appears delicate. Show the world your bravery.”    The traits of an average seventeen year old girl in the 1800's included: gossiping, crushing over potential husbands, and learning to be a devoted wife. Between Audrey Rose's social parties, training, and dress fittings she just happens to cut open dead bodies. Audrey is a girly girl, but there's one thing she's interested in that most girls in the 1800's aren't. She wants to learn and understand the science behind the human body, and often sneaks away to her uncle's laboratory to study forensic medicine. In the mist of her studies a pattern of  horrifically violent murders start to occur, and

Review: Keeper

Keeper Series: Keeper Duology #1  Author: Kim Chance  Pages: 409  Published: January 30th 2018  Publisher: Flux books/North Star Editions  Chance writes a contemporary fantasy that is laced with secretes, dark magic, and a family that throughout generations have had the power and courage to be the worlds saving grace.  I have always loved a well crafted witch read, and this contemporary fantasy did not disappoint! We follow Lainey who is a very straight laced student who relays on scientific facts, and sensibility. She has lacer focus on her main priority, acing the SAT. Lainey's life quickly takes a turn when the unordinary starts to happen, and even her beloved science can't explain it away. With the help of her comic obsessed best friend Maggie, and a cocky fighter named Ty, Lainey learns more about who she truly is, and the journey she is about to embark on. Keeper was paced wonderfully and was hard to put down! After leaving a bookstore event Mag
